This course takes a dynamic and motivating look at current affairs, issues, and global developments that affect us all. Classes introduce news and opinion from various online media outlets and publicly-generated sources.

English level: Upper-intermediate to advanced.
Topics covered: Participant involvement in choosing weekly content is encouraged to focus on your interests. Natural and meaningful English communication skills will flourish through group interaction and discussion getting to the heart of each story/topic. During this course, participants will become familiar with the peculiarities of mass media, bias, different journalistic styles, and how to disseminate facts from misinformation and untrustworthy sources.
Class times: (to be scheduled).

Duration: 4 weeks or by agreement.
Starts: Upon registration of 2 online students.
Teacher: David.
Location: Online, or at a pre-arranged location in the Lisbon area.
Assessment plan: Regular teacher feedback/assessment throughout the course, a final exam, and issuance of a course completion certificate.
